The person behind mind’s gone blank
A curious life,
made on purpose.
I’m Ryn Elizabeth—a writer, artist, and recovering overthinker learning to build a creative life that feels like my own.

The longer version
I thought creativity required sacrifice.
For a long time, I believed meaningful work had to hurt. That if I wasn’t exhausted, I wasn’t trying hard enough.
So I overplanned, overthought, and overworked—until I couldn’t hear my own voice beneath the noise. Burnout asked me an uncomfortable question: what if the way I was creating was keeping me from the life I wanted to create?
Mind’s Gone Blank grew from that pause. It’s my field notebook for a gentler experiment: choosing curiosity over control, play over performance, and sustainable creative practice over self-sacrifice.
“You don’t have to earn your way back to yourself.”
The things I come back to
Four small
north stars
1. Creativity
Art matters because it helps us understand ourselves—and each other.
2. Love
A meaningful life can be built from care, not constant self-abandonment.
3. Curiosity
The willingness to reflect and learn is more useful than being certain.
4. Play
Joy is not a distraction from the work. It is part of being alive.
